The government of the state has introduced a new requirement that individuals seeking employment in the government sector must have at least one year of work experience. This experience can be acquired through an apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act, or by working in a government department, organization, office, or institute. It can also be gained in a semi-government organization, office, or institute, or in a factory, company, or other private establishment with a minimum of five employees.
According to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, young people will now need to gain employment in any sector, including the government, in order to obtain an experience certificate and apply for regular government positions. Previously, work experience was not mandatory for government jobs, but now it is necessary for youth to gain practical experience.
This change is intended to ensure that candidates applying for government jobs have practical experience, which can enhance their qualifications and skills, ultimately benefiting the public sector. It emphasizes the importance of acquiring hands-on knowledge in real-world work environments and aligns with the government’s objective of recruiting individuals who are better prepared to make effective contributions to public service.
